This brand is inspired by my grandfather, Stanley (aka Pops), who was a commercial lobsterman/fisherman for over 50 years on the east end of Long Island. This design is based on photos of his lobster boat, the Hazel E , which was named after my grandmother. Stanley was a proud Navy veteran of WW2 and a proud fisherman. Stanley truly adopted the ?Be your own Captain? mindset, which is probably why he lived to be 100 years old. He lived life on his own terms, even living on his own in the house he built until he passed away in 2022.

I created this clothing line to keep my grandfather?s memory alive, pay tribute to him, and remind everyone to ?Be your own Captain.? While you can?t control all the external factors of your life, you can control your decisions and reactions, much like the captain of a ship. The seas may be rough sometimes, the winds may be blowing against you, but the captain has to steer his ship through it to get to calmer waters.
