I?m excited to announce that I am RUNNING for Mayor of our City of Fitchburg, Massachusetts!
I love representing Fitchburg everywhere I go. I love talking with our citizens about both their concerns and their ideas for improvement--- and working to get the job done. I love doing whatever I can to make a difference, large or small, to improve our lives now and into our future.
I am from here. I am committed to our community and absolutely love serving the citizens of Fitchburg.
Over the past six years of public service, I have listened attentively to the concerns of our residents, business owners, and other stakeholders. While I am inspired by the remarkable stories of progress in our city, I have also heard far too many tales of disappointment, inaction, and indifference.
As a business owner and commercial property owner here in Fitchburg for over 11 years, and as a full-time business professional building engineer and design project manager for 25 years in our area, I am always in touch with our business community leaders and am made constantly aware of the difficulty for business owners in Fitchburg in trying to start or expand their business.
Fitchburg needs an engaged, forward-thinking and collaborative leader that will listen to the needs of our stakeholders and convene regular councils on business, that work TOGETHER, to ensure we have a streamlined business permitting process for projects in the City of Fitchburg. Bringing everyone to the table so there are no surprises for our business owners that are already investing so much here.
Not only will we be culturally friendly, we will be business friendly. We will strive to be a City that welcomes those who want to add value and succeed within our community.
Fitchburg's future success demands leaders who show unwavering respect to every member of our diverse community, be it citizens, city employees, or business leaders. By listening and understanding, we can forge common goals and set aside our egos to foster collaboration. Appreciating the diverse values within our population, we must recognize our shared aspirations and requirements.
We need leaders unafraid to shoulder the burdensome tasks at hand, gaining comprehensive insight into our pressing needs.
Excuses and neglect have no place in effective leadership. Instead, we must actively address concerns, engage with our people, businesses, organizations, and city departments.
I appreciate every person that has supported me every day since I first submitted my name for an open position on the Council in 2016, and when I first ran for City Council in 2017. Whether making a donation to support our campaign, signing nomination papers, holding or posting a SAM sign, or simply calling or writing me to urge me to run or just showing their appreciation for my efforts--- I truly cannot thank you enough. You have all made an impact on my life and on my actions. I feel appreciated and loved--- and that really makes a world of difference in a difficult job such as putting yourself out there to run for elected office.
We invite everyone to join a spirit of inclusiveness, and avoid acting on pervasive negativity and divisiveness. We can best Move Fitchburg Forward by always working TOGETHER, as a team.
