Accessibility statement

Last updated: May 1, 2024

At Bonfire, we believe that accessibility is key to creating a kinder world. When we build a website that's accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities, we can create a more inclusive and empathetic community that values the unique contributions of every individual.

Overview

Bonfire is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

This accessibility statement applies to our main website, www.bonfire.com.

You should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 300% without problems

  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

  • use most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

We are making ongoing improvements to enhance the user experience and following accessibility standards as needed.

Measures to support accessibility

To improve the accessibility of our website, we take the following measures:

  • Ensuring accessibility is considered at each step of our feature development process, including research, design, development, and testing

  • Documenting accessibility best practices in our design system

  • Providing a way for anyone to report accessibility issues they find on our website

  • Conducting user interviews with real people that require different accessibility requirements

Known limitations for Bonfire

  • Design tool

You may not be able to navigate our design tool using just a keyboard, or with a screen reader. If you are unable to use our design tool because of this, please get in touch with our support team, and we can help create your campaign for you.

  • User uploaded content

On campaign pages, event pages, and organization profile pages, sellers can upload their own images. These images might not always have accurate alt descriptions.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

At Bonfire, we strive to be fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA.
