Established in 1987, the mission of the Asian Pacific American Network (APAN) is to address the concerns and issues of the Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi/South Asian American (APIDA) faculty, staff, and students in higher education. Our purpose is to provide community, professional development, networking, and affirmation of identity for APIDA professionals. APAN represents APIDA issues and advocates for programs, services, research, and actions within the leadership of the Coalition for Multicultural Affairs and ACPA: College Student Educators International.
As we count down to our 40th anniversary, kicking off at the ACPA 2027 Annual Convention (Toronto, ON, Canada) and culminating at the ACPA 2028 Annual Convention (Atlanta, GA), we aim to fundraise at least $4,000.00 to support APAN's Convention scholarships, awards, and programming for its members.
Over the last 5 years, we've awarded a total of 5 Convention Scholarships using our existing funds and nearly $1,100.00 raised since 2023.
By our estimates, this campaign's goal equals approximately 20 graduate student Convention registrations, 8 new professional Convention registrations, or 80 awards recognizing our members. Reaching this goal will allow us the means to budget annual support for our members across the next decade.
